The Solent 40,000 Challenge was another smash hit this year.
Although numbers were down with the release of a new edition of the game,
sixteen gamers did battle to decide our champion. As with any new version of our favourite game
there were rules debates, but everything was carried out in a sportsmanlike
manner.
I cannot thank all the players enough for making this event
better than last year. More importantly I want to thank the Solent Wargamers
Club for the use of their club facilities and Ben Calvert-Lee for his stunning
prize artwork.
The winner of the Best Painted Army was Richard Horton’s
Space Wolf army. Although nominated several times at various events this is his
first award for painting, which I am sure will be the first of many!
